LeicesterDirectory.uk is our independently published directory for Leicester and nearby communities. A listing does not guarantee Google rankings or enquiries.
Search for your business first. If it is already listed, request an edit link from its page; otherwise submit a clear description, your real base and the places you serve. Contact email stays private unless you opt to display it. Photos are optional; use an image you own or have permission to publish.
Use Google's own eligibility guidance
Google Business Profile is free for eligible businesses and can help customers find a business through Search and Maps. It is not the same as a paid advertising campaign. Use Google's official guidance to check whether your business qualifies before investing time in a profile.
Businesses serving customers at their premises and businesses travelling to customers have different address considerations. Online-only businesses are generally not eligible. A service-area business should follow Google's address-display rules rather than publishing a home address unnecessarily. Verification is controlled by Google; no local directory can guarantee approval.
Check Independent Leicester eligibility
BID Leicester's Independent Leicester campaign includes a website directory and promotion for independent businesses. Its published guidance says independent businesses within the BID Leicester area can get involved. That geographical condition matters: a business elsewhere in the city or county should not assume it qualifies.
Read the campaign information and use the organisation's official contact route to ask about eligibility, inclusion and current terms. A campaign listing, BID participation and any other promotional offer are separate questions; do not assume that one enquiry buys or guarantees all three.
Match tourism promotion to your offer
Visit Leicester is the official Local Visitor Economy Partnership for the region and describes promotional support for visitor-facing businesses. Its contact page also points organisers towards submitting events for possible inclusion. That is an editorial consideration process, not a promise that every business or event will be published.
Ask about suitable opportunities and any charges before agreeing to a campaign. For licensing, business rates, commercial premises or starting and growing a business, use Leicester City Council's business pages instead. Regulatory support and publicity serve different purposes, and neither automatically creates a listing on an independent directory.
